As you grow older, you realize why Gokusen makes sense and why students don't trust teachers (or any person in power, be it the principal and vice principal or even the police) because they only look after themselves and the school's reputation under the disguise of "caring for the student's future". When these children get caught in crimes they did not commit, teachers would always secure the school's reputation in the eyes of the public, rather than go through due process to hear out their side of the story. It's like "I care for you so I'm sending you to jail" without letting them explain why they got caught in a crime.
Plus, the obvious discrimination on looks doesn't help.
