First off, this movie is ridiculous. It’s not friendly to non-anime fans and the scenes were all over the place. Easy to understand for those who’ve seen the anime, but not to non-fans. I couldn’t quite follow the flow. I would constantly ask my friend what was happening for me to understand what was going on. Unlike Jojo, where, yes, I have questions, but they would usually be answered later on in the story. This one, I just didn’t understand at all. I had so many questions. Who are the homunculus, who was Lust? What’s Mustang’s role? What’s the point of Tucker? I mean, I can see why everyone was so into Nina merging with Alexander but what’s the point of that scene to the overall plot? Besides, in the ending of the film, it seemed like Mustang was the hero here. Or perhaps I just didn’t understand most of it.
Acting wise, it was okay. I just didn’t like Honda Tsubasa’s crying scene but the rest of the cast did great. Sorry, Honda.
